The Heritage Shop is a new initiative of the Cape Town Heritage Trust located next to the Visitor's Centre in The Company's Garden. Appropriately, the logo for the shop is one of the grey squirrels so beloved by visitors to Cape Town's favourite public space.
This new store offers visitors items related to all things gardens and gardening, as well as gifts that showcase the rich heritage of Cape Town. You will find limited-edition, objects handmade by local craftsmen and artists. There is a strong focus on organic products that are friendly to the environment.
Although only just opened, the shop already has a wide variety of items for sale. These include body products from Montagu, rare essential oils from the Koue Bokkeveld, gardeners’ aprons and caps, and prints, cards and bags. Heritage seeds, plants and products from the VOC veggie garden are soon to arrive, as are soaps, candles and linen for the home. A range of books focusing on history and heritage are available as well.
The shop also showcases a range of exquisite items related to the Cape Fynbos Tea Ceremony, which the Cape Town Heritage Trust hosts in the gallery at the Visitor's Centre.

In the CCID's latest online residential survey, 93% of respondents chose The Company’s Garden as their number one spot.
Other attractions in the public space include St George's Cathedral and the National Library of South Africa, as well as several museums, monuments and gardens.
The Company's Garden Restaurant, operated by the Madame Zingara group, is also a big attraction.
