In the Autumn 2017 issue of City Views, we let you in on the Central City’s dirty secret. Over a three-month period, the Cape Town Central City Improvement District’s (CCID) Urban Management department coordinated the removal of 807 incidents of graffiti, and cleaning of 8 074 drains and 370kg of cigarette butts tossed on pavements across the 1.62km2 CCID area.

To get the message out there, the CCID is launching its annual #KeepItClean campaign in April. It will highlight the Urban Management services it provides in the Central City and also call on the public to do their bit to ensure ours remains the cleanest CBD in South Africa. Look out for the scene-setting street-pole posters (pictured), as well as other activations in the CCID area.
