The CCID’s #KeepItClean campaign enters its final phase with a novel way to stub out your stompie and leave your mark.
Last month, we talked rubbish (Let's talk rubbish). In May, it’s time to turn our attention to the cigarette. No, we are not saying you shouldn’t smoke. But we are asking CBD users to be mindful of the fact that CCID’s cleaning teams remove hundreds of kilos of cigarette butts from the CBD each year – to be exact, 1 722kg last year alone. If you are a smoker, you could make their job easier by using one of the many CCID-branded cigarette bins placed at strategic locations across town.

Or ... track down the CCID’s new super-ciggie bin. This one, created by Design Infestation, gives your stompie a sense of purpose and turns your outdoor smoke into the same experience the office water cooler offers – a chance to debate the issues of the day.
Turn your stompie into ballot in a butt bin.
The display area contains a question, changed on a regular basis, and asks smokers to vote with their butts. Inspired by a campaign in Manchester in the UK (click here), the idea is to encourage smokers to discard their stompies in a designated bin rather than on the sidewalk or in the gutter. You can find the manufacturer of the Manchester bins, Hubbub, here.
We think this is pretty cool, and can’t wait to see how the public reacts. Think it’s a good idea too? Why not drop us a line with your thoughts? We recommend doing this via Facebook or Twitter.
